About Melanie Curtis, LCSW, CCTP

I graduated from Baylor University in 2004 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and received my Master of Social Work from Baylor University in 2006, with a concentration on Mental and Physical Health. I have been practicing social work for 14 years and began my social work career at the Waco Family Abuse Center as their children’s services coordinator, where I developed their children’s program. I then worked as a clinical therapist on the child and adolescent unit at the DePaul Center Psychiatric Hospital. I enjoy working with adolescents and adults on issues like trauma, OCD, depression, anxiety, anger management, low self-esteem, and behavioral issues. I draw from many different theories, such as acceptance and commitment therapy, solution focused therapy, behavioral therapy, and dialectical behavioral therapy. I believe in a holistic approach to treatment in working with clients to help them achieve their goals.
